Google Street View. Seems that the image in question is "no longer available." I have to say I did lose a bit of respect for Google when I discovered that they removed the image.

On an additional, tangential, more interesting, and adjective ridden note, I came into possession of a most peculiar find the other day. It's a book on "Natural Philosophy" (what is now known better as physics) printed in 1881. I'ven't gone through the whole thing yet, but already I'm reveling in how outdated and historic the whole thing is. I've enclosed a scan below to show you all what I mean (click on it to see a lower quality, but much larger version.)

Well, my friends who speak French (at least some level of it anyway) seem to disagree greatly on the last comic. I did get an overall consensus that while the literal translation may not make sense, it is at least one technically correct way to say what I wanted to say in French, so I'm just going to leave it (unless one of my fine readers knows better than my friends and wants to offer up some advice.)

ISDC was pretty amazing. Except for the talks that were given in rooms no larger than 4 by 3 meters and containing a good 50 people in them. In Dallas. In the summer. During a monsoon (read high humidity.) Oh, and the air conditioning just wasn't cutting it. It was worth it though, what for the talk with Rusty Schweickart. Let's just hope ISDC2008 is somewhere a little more comfortable.

As for HP, I'm not so sure what to think of them anymore. I've had really great experience with them and their tech support in the past (once you can get past all the questions on the script which would apply except for the fact that I already know a little something about computers and I wouldn't be calling if it was a software issue!) This time however, it took them two weeks before they could even ship the HDD out to me (though in their defense, it can't be easy finding a 100GB, 2.5in, 4200RPM HDD these days.) Let's just say I'm disappointed in them, and leave it at that.

Next few updates are scheduled for the 6th, 13th, 15th, 17th, and 20th of June.
